Years in the making, The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 is opening its doors to the public in 2021. This hotly anticipated museum chronicles Illinoisian’s major contributions to the history of Rock & Roll, from Cheap Trick to Chess Records.
The museum will preserve artifacts from some of your favorite bands and artists, like REO Speedwagon’s platinum record “Hi-Infedlity”, Ministry frontman Al Jorgenson’s legendary mic and a custom-made telecaster style guitar used by Jimmy Stafford, founding member of the band Train.
Through these exhibits and many more, you’ll learn the stories behind the rock legends, and discover some of the lesser known icons that changed the face of the genre forever.
For special Hall of Fame and museum events, visit their website at (what else?) RoadToRock.org.
